Description

The Zen is an LED bollard light in a Corten & Wood finish: a slim, upright column with a rust-toned corten frame around a dark wood front face. It stands 50cm tall, 12cm wide and 5.5cm deep, with a 6.5cm head across the top. The light sits beneath that head and falls down the wood face in a soft wash, so you see the glow rather than a bare lamp. It runs on an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 4.5W and gives 546 lumens of 3000K warm white light with a CRI of 90, which keeps planting, brick and timber looking true to colour.

This is a bollard light for outside. It is rated IP55, so it suits outdoor use in the garden. Set a line of them along a garden path, beside steps or at the edge of a patio or terrace, and the warm light picks out the way after dark. The 50cm height keeps the glow low, at the level of borders and planting. The slim 5.5cm depth lets it sit neatly at the edge of a lawn or drive. The rust and wood tones sit comfortably beside timber decking, gravel and natural stone.

The design is by Martínez y Soler Arquitectos. The Corten & Wood finish gives the bollard its warm, earthy character, with rust-toned corten on the frame and dark wood on the front face. The LED is not dimmable, so it works from an ordinary on and off switch rather than a dimmer. It is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. It runs on the 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. With an integrated LED there is no bulb to replace, so once it is in place you can enjoy warm, low light along your paths on long evenings outside.
