The Anvil Spot SR 38° is a small pendant light that does one job well: a slim cylindrical head on a fine cord, sending a focused pool of light downwards. The head is just 6cm tall and 3.2cm across, and the cord gives a drop of up to 200cm, so it can hang low over a table or sit higher in a taller room. It runs on an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. At 4.5W it gives 546 lumens of warm 3000K light, and a CRI of 90 keeps food, fabric and paint looking true to their colour. We offer it in Black or White.

We like it most over a dining table, where a row of these slender heads lights each place setting without crowding the space between you and the person opposite. In a living room it sits well beside a reading chair or above a sideboard, putting a precise circle of warm light on a book, a bowl or a favourite object. That fitting needs a cut-out 4cm across and a recess depth of 6cm, which is worth checking before you settle on a position. It is a 230V mains fitting, wired in by a qualified electrician, and it is not dimmable, so it gives its full warm output whenever it is switched on. Plan the drop for each room before it goes up.
