Description

The Anvil Spot S 38° is a slim cylindrical pendant light with a small head that sends its light downwards from the open end, like a spotlight on a cord. The head is 6cm tall and 3.2cm across, and it hangs from a canopy 4.5cm across and 11cm tall, on a drop of up to 20cm. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 4.5W and gives 546 lumens of warm 3000K light with a CRI of 90, which means food, fabrics and paint colours look true beneath it. We offer it in two finishes, black or white, so you can choose the one that sits best against your ceiling.

This is a fitting for focused light rather than general room lighting. In a dining room, hang it over the table so a clear circle of light falls on the plates and the centre of the surface. In a living room, it suits a side table, a reading chair or a favourite object that deserves its own light. A row of them over a long table gives an even line of light, with each head kept small and discreet. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. It is not dimmable, so it runs from an ordinary wall switch rather than a dimmer.

The design is by David Abad, and its plain cylinder keeps the look quiet in either finish. It is a Class I fitting, an earthed design, and it is wired in to the 230V mains by a qualified electrician. Because the LED is built in and the head is so compact, there is no lamp to change and nothing bulky to catch the eye when it is switched off, just a neat point of light exactly where you want it.
