Description

The Anvil Spot SR 60° is a slim pendant light with a small cylindrical head that throws its light straight down, and it comes in black or white. The head is just 6cm tall and 3.2cm across, hanging on a fine cord with a drop of up to 200cm, so you can set it low over a table or keep it higher. Inside is an integrated LED of 4.5W giving 546lm at 3000K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90, so food, fabrics and skin tones look true to life. There is no bulb to buy or change.

We see it most at home in a dining room, where a few hung in a line over the table pick out each place setting, or in a living room, where a single one beside a chair or over a side table gives a focused pool of light for reading. The small head keeps the look light and uncluttered, so it works well where a larger shade would crowd the space. It is not dimmable, so it suits a spot where you want steady, direct light on an ordinary switch rather than a soft background glow. It is rated IP20, which means dry rooms only.

David Abad designed the Anvil Spot SR 60°, and it is a mains fitting at 230V, to be wired in by a qualified electrician. It is a Class I fitting, and the part that sits in the ceiling needs a cut-out 4cm across with a recess depth of 6cm. Choose black or white to suit your ceiling and walls: black reads crisply against pale paintwork, while white blends quietly into it. Before you order, it is worth checking that there is at least 6cm of clear depth in the ceiling where you plan to hang it, so the fitting goes in without fuss on the day.
