Description

The Beaded C is a compact round ceiling light that sits close to the ceiling, with a softly curved glass diffuser held beneath a slim black band. We offer it in two diffuser finishes, Smoke Grey or Opal White. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. It draws 11W and gives 1250 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which means colours, timber and skin tones look true and natural beneath it. The body is 25cm across, the fitting is 27.5cm at its widest point and it is just 10cm tall.

Because it is so shallow, the Beaded C suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low: hallways, landings, corridors, bedrooms and living rooms with lower ceilings. Several fitted in a line give an even run of light along a hall or across a wide living room, and the warm white tone feels restful in a bedroom and welcoming in an entrance. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is not dimmable, so it gives its full output whenever it is on, which makes it a sound choice for steady, practical everyday light rather than mood lighting.

The design is by Werner Aisslinger, who kept the form simple: a rounded diffuser and a plain black band that frames it neatly against the ceiling. Choose Opal White for a bright, milky glow, or Smoke Grey for a deeper tone that sits well with darker schemes. The fitting runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. There is nothing else to buy: the LED is built in, so once it is fitted it simply needs switching on. Our photographs show the opal white version.
