The Solid F 180 is a cylinder LED floor lamp: a single slim upright column, 184cm tall and 4.5cm across, rising from a flat round base 32cm across. The light runs along the stem in a section 140cm long, so the lamp reads as a line of light rather than a shade on a pole. It is an integrated LED, which means there is no bulb to buy or change. At 25W it gives 3650 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so colours look natural under it. We sell it in Black, Brass, White and Aluminium, so you can match the finish to the room.

It belongs in the living room, where its height lets it light a corner, wash a wall or stand beside a sofa, an armchair or a bookcase. With 3650 lumens it can do more than glow, and because it is dimmable you can turn it down for a quiet evening and bring it back up when you are reading or have people round. The narrow stem and small footprint mean it fits where a wide shaded lamp would crowd the space. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, indoors. It runs on mains power at 230V.

The design is by Josep Lluís Xuclà, and it keeps everything to a few clean parts: the column, the light set into it, and the disc base it stands on. Each of the finishes, Black, Brass, White and Aluminium, carries the same proportions and the same light, so the choice comes down to the colours around it. It is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. Before you order, it is worth measuring the spot: at 184cm tall it needs a clear run of wall or a corner with nothing overhanging, and the base needs a flat patch of floor 32cm across.
