Description

The Overlay S50 Cognac Glass is a tiered pendant light: three stacked, angled tiers sit over a tapered cone of Cognac Glass, and each tier is cut through by a narrow slot. It is 50cm across and the shade is 24.2cm tall, hanging from a round canopy 16cm across and 4.5cm tall. We sell it in two finishes, Beige & Copper or Yellow & Grey & Beige, and both pair their tiers with the same Cognac Glass cone. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 13W, which is not included and is sold separately; the bulb is its light source, so pick one up with the pendant.

At 50cm across it has the presence to hang over a dining table, lighting the table itself and giving the room a clear centre, and it works just as well over the middle of a living room. It hangs on a drop of up to 200cm, so it can sit at a height that suits your table and your ceiling. Beige & Copper is the quieter, warmer pairing, while Yellow & Grey & Beige brings brighter colour to a plain room. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

It runs on mains power and is wired in by an electrician: it is a Class I fitting, for a qualified electrician to install. It is not dimmable, so it suits an ordinary on and off switch rather than a dimmer. The design is by e27, Tim Brauns, and it builds the shade up from separate tiers around a single glass cone rather than one solid bowl. As a practical note, decide on the drop before installation day, with your table already in place, and have your E27 bulb of up to 13W ready so the pendant can be lit as soon as it is up.
