The Misko Camp is a portable metal table lamp that runs from its own rechargeable battery, charged by USB, so it needs no socket nearby while it is lit. Its integrated LED gives 250 lumens of warm 2700K light from just 2.1W. A CRI of 90 means colours look true, and there is no bulb to buy or change. It dims by touch. A white, softly ribbed shade with a rounded lantern shape sits on a low round base, with a loop at the top to carry it by. Its body is 25cm tall and 25cm across, on a base 13cm across, and we offer it in a Walnut or Black finish.

Because it carries its own power, it moves easily from room to room. In a living room it gives a soft glow on a side table or bookshelf, and in a bedroom it makes a gentle bedside lamp you can dim low as you wind down at the end of the day. Bring it to the dining table for supper, then carry it up to bed by its loop. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. Choose Walnut for a warmer note beside wooden furniture, or Black for a crisper look against pale walls.

The design is by Stone Designs, who took the simple lantern form and made it something you can pick up and take with you. The shade's fine horizontal ribs give it a gentle texture, and the low round base sits neatly on a table or shelf. Running on its battery, it has no flex to trail across a room while it is lit. Recharge it by USB whenever it needs it, then set the level with a touch and leave it wherever you want the light. Our photographs show the black version.
