Description

The LYYT 12V DC 2A indoor PSU is a compact in-line power supply delivering up to 24W output through a 1.2m lead terminated in a 5.5 x 2.1mm centre-positive DC plug. It converts 100-240Vac mains to regulated 12Vdc, suitable for LED strip lighting, small CCTV cameras, LED signage and other low-power 12V devices rated up to 2A draw.

The power supply uses a sealed plastic enclosure measuring 94 x 43 x 27mm and weighing 135g, designed for mounting behind furniture, under cabinets or inside enclosures where the device being powered sits within 1.2m of a mains socket. The included UK figure-8 mains lead connects to the PSU's input socket, allowing the power brick to be positioned away from the wall socket if needed. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor installations or damp environments.

The 5.5 x 2.1mm DC output plug is the standard barrel connector size used by many LED strip controllers, small amplifiers and 12V accessories. Centre-positive polarity matches the majority of consumer 12V devices, but always verify polarity requirements before connecting to avoid damage. The universal 100-240Vac input means the PSU works across international voltage standards, though the included mains lead is UK-specific.

Frequently Asked

What devices can this power supply run?

It suits any 12Vdc device rated up to 2A (24W) with a centre-positive 5.5 x 2.1mm DC input. Common uses include single-colour LED strips up to 2m, small CCTV cameras, LED signs, and 12V LED downlight controllers. Check your device's power requirement before connecting — devices drawing more than 2A will overload the PSU.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means this PSU is not protected against moisture and must only be used in dry indoor locations. For outdoor or bathroom LED installations, you need an IP65 or IP67 rated driver.

What's the difference between the 1.2m lead and the mains cable?

The 1.2m lead is the low-voltage DC output cable that runs from the PSU to your device. The included UK figure-8 mains cable connects the PSU to the wall socket and is approximately 1.5m long, giving flexibility in positioning the power brick.

Is the polarity adjustable?

No. The output is fixed at centre-positive polarity. Most consumer 12V devices use centre-positive, but some equipment requires centre-negative. Always verify your device's polarity marking before connecting to avoid damage.
