Description

Dining rooms and open-plan kitchens are where our Silvia Pendant Lampshade Medium in Brushed Steel feels most at home, casting a warm, sculptural glow over a table or breakfast bar. This shade is built around overlapping pointed leaves that build into a tight artichoke form, so it holds a strong presence without dominating the space around it. The brushed steel finish keeps things quietly modern, and we like how it works with both pale and darker walls. Measuring 50cm in diameter and 41cm in height, this is the larger of the two sizes we offer in the range.

The Silvia is made from polypropylene and polycarbonate, which keeps it light at just 0.79kg while allowing each leaf to hold its shape cleanly. The overlapping panels let light filter through the gaps as well as pooling downward, so the shade gives off a soft, layered effect once it is lit. It takes around 15 minutes to put together, and we provide an assembly video to walk you through each stage. The Silvia is compatible with E27 fittings, and although we picture it here as a pendant, it can also be used as a floor or table lampshade if you would rather work it into a lamp base.

Because the Silvia is built from individual leaves, we would suggest handling it gently as you fit each piece during assembly, taking care not to force the panels into place. To keep the brushed steel finish looking its best, a light dust with a dry, soft cloth is all it needs, and we would avoid damp cloths or cleaning sprays. If you have space for more than one, a pair or a row of these over a longer table gives a rhythm we think looks particularly good, letting the artichoke shape read clearly along the length of the room.
