Description
The Fort ECSPST is a WiFi-enabled programmable thermostat with a white chassis, LED temperature display and touch-sensitive controls on a vertical black panel. The thermostat connects to 2.4GHz WiFi networks, allowing remote temperature monitoring and schedule adjustments via the Fort mobile app on iOS and Android devices.
Designed for UK central heating systems including combi boilers, system boilers and heat-only boilers, the Fort thermostat supports 7-day programming with up to six time and temperature settings per day. The app interface allows scheduling from anywhere with internet access, while the physical controls on the unit provide manual override without needing a phone. The thermostat operates on mains voltage and controls the heating circuit through a relay output.
The unit measures 160mm wide by 170mm tall with a 69mm projection from the wall, fitting a standard back box or surface-mounting via the included bracket. The LED display shows current room temperature, target temperature, heating status and WiFi connection status. Energy-saving features include adaptive start (pre-heating to reach target temperature at the scheduled time rather than starting heating at that time), frost protection and an open-window detection mode that pauses heating when a rapid temperature drop is detected.

Frequently Asked
What boiler types is this compatible with?
The Fort ECSPST works with combi boilers, system boilers and heat-only boilers on standard UK heating circuits. It controls the heating circuit via a relay output and operates on mains voltage. Check the Product Manual for specific wiring diagrams for your boiler configuration.
Does it require a hub or gateway?
No. The thermostat connects directly to your 2.4GHz WiFi network without needing a separate hub. A stable 2.4GHz WiFi signal at the thermostat location is required — the unit does not support 5GHz networks.
Can multiple users control the thermostat?
Yes. Once the thermostat is paired with the Fort app, multiple users can be granted access to monitor and control the heating from their own devices. This is useful for households where more than one person needs to adjust the heating remotely.
What is adaptive start?
Adaptive start pre-heats the room to reach the target temperature at the scheduled time, rather than starting the heating at that time. The thermostat learns how long the room takes to warm up and fires the boiler earlier on cold days, reducing the period where the room is below the target temperature.
