Description
The Sangamo 72112 is a single-channel 7-day digital time switch designed for DIN rail mounting in consumer units and distribution boards. The device occupies two standard DIN rail module widths (36mm total) and provides programmable switching control for lighting circuits, heating systems, ventilation fans and other time-dependent electrical loads up to 16A at 250V AC.
The LCD display shows the current time, programmed schedules and switching status across the week. Programming is done via four front-panel buttons, with up to 56 independent on/off events storable across the seven-day cycle. The unit runs on 230V mains supply and includes a backup capacitor that holds programming and time data for up to 7 days during power outages, removing the need to reprogram after a mains interruption.
Installation follows standard DIN rail clip-on procedure, with terminals for incoming line (L), neutral (N) and the switched output to the load. The compact 2-module footprint allows the time switch to be added to existing consumer units without displacing other circuit protection devices. Operating temperature range is -30°C to +50°C, making it suitable for outdoor enclosures, garage distribution boards and unheated plant rooms.

Frequently Asked
How many on/off events can be programmed?
The 72112 stores up to 56 independent on/off switching events across the 7-day cycle. This allows for different schedules on weekdays and weekends, or multiple switching periods per day for heating or lighting control.
What happens to programming during a power cut?
The unit includes a backup capacitor that retains all programmed schedules and the current time for up to 7 days without mains power. Once power is restored the time switch resumes normal operation without needing to be reprogrammed.
What DIN rail module width does it occupy?
The 72112 occupies 2 standard DIN rail module spaces (36mm total width). This is the same width as two standard MCBs or RCBOs, allowing it to fit into most consumer units with available rail space.
Can it be used outdoors?
The operating temperature range is -30°C to +50°C, so the unit can be installed in outdoor enclosures, garages and unheated plant rooms. The enclosure itself must provide appropriate IP-rated protection from moisture and direct water ingress.
