Sangamo Choice Plus 2 Channel Digital Programmer - White

The Sangamo Choice Plus is a 2-channel digital programmer providing independent control of heating and hot water circuits on pumped central heating systems. The unit offers three scheduling modes: 24-hour, 5/2-day (weekday/weekend split), and 7-day programming, with up to three ON/OFF periods per channel per day. A backlit LCD displays the current time, active channels and programme status.

Designed for residential heating systems with separate heating and hot water zones, the Choice Plus fits a standard UK 2-gang back box (35mm minimum depth) and connects via wired terminals rated at 2A 240V AC per channel. The programmer ships with a pre-loaded schedule ready to use on installation, allowing immediate operation before customisation. Boost and holiday modes provide temporary override without reprogramming the main schedule.

The white ABS case measures 148mm x 90mm x 42mm and mounts flush to the wall once the cover plate is fitted. The backlit display activates on button press and remains lit for 10 seconds, making the unit usable in low-light hallway and utility room installations. Automatic summer/winter time change adjusts the clock twice per year, and an optional service interval function can be enabled to remind users of annual boiler servicing.

What's the difference between 24-hour, 5/2-day and 7-day modes?

24-hour mode repeats the same schedule every day. 5/2-day mode allows different schedules for weekdays and weekends. 7-day mode allows a unique schedule for each individual day of the week. All modes support up to three ON/OFF periods per channel per day.

What back box depth is required?

A standard 2-gang UK back box with 35mm minimum depth is required. The programmer mounts to the box using the supplied screws and the cover plate sits flush to the wall once fitted.

How does the boost function work?

Boost provides a temporary override of the programmed schedule, turning on heating or hot water for 1, 2 or 3 hours (selectable). After the boost period expires, the programmer returns to the main schedule without needing to be reset.

Can this control a combi boiler?

The Choice Plus is designed for pumped systems with separate heating and hot water circuits. Combi boilers typically produce hot water on demand and do not require a separate hot water programme, so a single-channel timer or combi-specific programmer would be more appropriate.
