Description
The Sangamo 71111 is a single-module 7-day DIN rail time switch with a 16A volt-free changeover contact and 46 memory locations for programmable switching events. The unit fits a standard 35mm DIN rail and occupies one module width (18mm), making it suitable for compact consumer units and distribution boards where panel space is limited. The LCD display shows current time, day, switching status and programmed events.
Designed for controlling lighting circuits, heating systems, ventilation equipment and other scheduled loads in commercial, industrial and domestic installations, the 71111 operates on 230V 50-60Hz mains with a 10-year battery reserve maintaining programmed settings during power outages. The volt-free changeover contact allows the switch to control circuits independent of the mains supply voltage, providing flexibility for low-voltage signalling or interfacing with other control systems.
Standard programming is done via the four red buttons on the front panel, allowing up to 46 on/off events to be set across the week. The unit is also compatible with Sangamo's optional key programming tool and EasyVUE Connect hub (sold separately), which enable remote programming and network control where multiple time switches need coordinated scheduling. The changeover contact provides both normally-open and normally-closed outputs from a single relay, giving choice between fail-safe-on or fail-safe-off behaviour depending on wiring configuration.

Frequently Asked
How many switching events can be programmed?
The 71111 stores up to 46 independent on/off switching events across the 7-day week. Each event can be set to specific times on selected days, allowing complex scheduling patterns for different weekday and weekend requirements.
What does volt-free contact mean?
The 16A changeover contact is electrically isolated from the 230V mains supply that powers the time switch itself. This allows the contact to switch low-voltage circuits, DC systems, or any other voltage independent of the mains, making the switch suitable for signalling applications and interfacing with control systems.
Does it retain settings during a power cut?
Yes. The internal battery provides a 10-year reserve that maintains all programmed events, time and date settings during mains power interruptions. The battery is not user-replaceable; the unit is typically replaced at end of battery life.
What DIN rail does it fit?
The 71111 clips onto standard 35mm DIN rail (TS35) used in most consumer units and distribution boards. It occupies one module width (18mm), equivalent to a single-pole MCB.
