Sangamo Choice Plus 3 Channel Digital Programmer - Silver

The Sangamo Choice Plus is a 3-channel digital heating programmer with independent control channels for heating, hot water and an auxiliary function such as underfloor heating or a second heating zone. The unit offers 24-hour, 5/2-day and 7-day programming modes, with each channel supporting up to three on/off periods per day. A backlit LCD shows the current time, active channels and scheduled programmes.

Designed for pumped central heating systems, the programmer fits a standard UK back box and provides 2A switch rating at 240V AC on each output channel. The boost function allows 1, 2 or 3-hour overrides for heating or hot water without altering the stored schedule, while holiday mode suspends programmed operation for a set period. The unit ships with a pre-programmed default schedule that can be used immediately or customised to individual routines.

The silver finish housing measures 148mm wide by 90mm tall with a 42mm projection from the wall once installed. The backlit display remains visible in low light, and the six-button interface provides access to all programming functions without requiring an app or smartphone. The unit includes automatic summer/winter time adjustment and an optional service interval reminder function for boiler maintenance scheduling.

What's the difference between 24-hour, 5/2-day and 7-day modes?

24-hour mode repeats the same schedule every day. 5/2-day mode allows different schedules for weekdays and weekends. 7-day mode gives individual schedules for each day of the week, useful for shift workers or variable routines.

What does the third channel control?

The third channel can control an auxiliary heating function such as underfloor heating, a second heating zone, or a towel rail circuit. It provides independent on/off switching separate from the main heating and hot water channels.

Is the programmer compatible with combi boilers?

The Choice Plus is designed for pumped systems with separate heating and hot water circuits. Combi boilers typically require only a single-channel programmer or room thermostat as they produce hot water on demand. Check your boiler manual before purchasing.

How does the boost function work?

Pressing the boost button activates heating or hot water for 1, 2 or 3 hours without changing the stored programme. When the boost period ends, the programmer returns to its normal schedule.
