Description

The Sangamo FS60.18 is a 24-hour analogue timer switch with a 16A voltage-free changeover contact, rated for 230V 50-60Hz operation. The timer uses captive red plastic segments arranged around a 24-hour clock dial, with each segment representing 15 minutes of programmable on/off time. Segments are pushed in to activate the timed period and pulled out to deactivate, giving a visual reference of the programmed schedule at a glance.

Designed for heating systems, lighting circuits, pumps, ventilation and process control applications where timed switching is needed without permanent supervision, the FS60.18 fits surface mounting on walls, panel mounting in control enclosures, or snap-fits onto standard 35mm DIN rail. The voltage-free contact means the timer can be wired into low-voltage control circuits as well as mains switching applications, and the changeover contact allows both normally-open and normally-closed configurations from a single device.

The manual override switch on the lower left of the faceplate allows the timer to be forced on or off without reprogramming, returning automatically to the programmed schedule once released. A contact status indicator shows whether the output is energised or de-energised, useful for confirming operation during commissioning. The 97mm x 80mm x 62mm housing is made in Germany and carries CE marking.

Frequently Asked

How do you program the timer?

The red plastic segments around the clock dial are captive — they stay attached to the dial but can be pushed in or pulled out. Push a segment in to activate that 15-minute period, pull it out to deactivate. A full 24-hour cycle can be programmed by setting all 96 segments to your required on/off pattern.

What does voltage-free contact mean?

A voltage-free contact has no electrical potential of its own. It acts as a simple switch that opens or closes based on the timer program, allowing you to control low-voltage circuits (e.g. 12V, 24V control systems) or mains circuits up to the 16A rating without the timer itself supplying voltage.

Can it be mounted on DIN rail?

Yes. The FS60.18 is designed for surface mounting, panel mounting in control enclosures, or snap-fitting onto standard 35mm DIN rail commonly found in distribution boards and control panels.

What happens during a power cut?

Analogue timers do not have battery backup. During a power outage the clock stops. When power returns the clock resumes from the position it stopped at, not the current time. You will need to manually reset the clock dial to the correct time after any interruption to mains supply.
