Description

The Sangamo FS 60.38 is a 7-day analogue timer switch with a 16A voltage-free changeover contact, built around a 24-hour rotating dial with red captive programming segments. Each segment represents one hour and can be pushed in to activate the timer for that period, repeating across the week. The white face shows two concentric time scales — the outer ring for daytime hours, the inner ring for night-time — making programming readable at a glance.

Designed for controlling heating systems, immersion heaters, circulation pumps, ventilation and lighting in residential, commercial and agricultural installations, the timer mounts to panel cutouts, surface backboxes or standard 35mm DIN rail. The voltage-free contact means the timer is isolated from the switched load, making it compatible with low-voltage control circuits, mains switching and inductive loads without de-rating. A manual override switch on the left side forces the contact on or off while maintaining the programmed schedule.

The FS 60.38 is manufactured in Germany by Sangamo and carries CE marking. The white housing measures 97mm wide by 80mm tall by 62mm deep behind the panel cutout, with a projection of approximately 30mm in front of the panel once installed. The contact status indicator — a small window at the 6 o'clock position on the dial — shows whether the output is energised or de-energised at any given time, useful for fault-finding without needing test equipment.

Frequently Asked

How are the time periods programmed?

Push the red captive segments inward to activate the timer for that hour. Each segment represents one hour on the 24-hour dial. The dial rotates continuously, repeating the programmed pattern across the week. To deactivate an hour, pull the segment back out.

What does voltage-free contact mean?

The output contact is electrically isolated from the timer's internal power supply. This means the FS 60.38 can switch mains loads, low-voltage control circuits or inductive loads without de-rating, and without risk of back-feeding voltage into control panels.

Can it be surface-mounted without a panel cutout?

Yes. The timer accepts surface mounting to a backbox, panel mounting via a rectangular cutout, or DIN rail mounting using the integrated clip on the rear. Mounting hardware and instructions are in the manual linked in the Downloads tab.

Does the manual override cancel the program?

No. The manual override switch on the left side forces the contact on or off temporarily but does not erase the programmed schedule. When the override is released, the timer resumes following the red segment pattern automatically.
