Description

The Sangamo Choice Plus is a 1-channel digital programmer offering 24-hour, 5/2-day or 7-day scheduling for central heating systems. The unit controls a single output channel with up to three on/off periods per day, operated through a backlit LCD interface showing time, day and program status. Two physical buttons (ADV and +HR) provide manual override and boost functions without accessing the main menu.

Designed for standard pumped heating systems, the programmer mounts on a standard UK back box and switches loads up to 2A at 240V AC, suitable for circulating pumps and zone valves in residential and light commercial installations. The unit comes pre-programmed with a default schedule that can be used immediately or overridden through the interface. A holiday mode allows temporary suspension of the schedule without losing stored programs, and an optional service interval reminder can be enabled for boiler maintenance tracking.

The 148mm x 90mm x 42mm housing fits a double-gang mounting footprint with a silver front panel and a backlit blue display visible in low-light conditions. The programmer includes automatic summer/winter time adjustment for BST changes and retains program memory during brief power interruptions. At 0.31kg the unit installs without additional wall reinforcement on plasterboard or masonry surfaces.

What's the difference between 24-hour, 5/2-day and 7-day programming?

24-hour mode repeats the same schedule every day. 5/2-day mode uses one schedule for weekdays and a different schedule for weekends. 7-day mode allows a unique schedule for each day of the week, useful if occupancy patterns vary throughout the week.

How does the boost function work?

The boost button (labelled +HR) activates heating immediately for 1, 2 or 3 hours regardless of the programmed schedule. Boost overrides the current off period but does not alter the stored program, so normal scheduling resumes when the boost period ends.

Does it retain programs during a power cut?

The programmer retains stored schedules during brief power interruptions. Extended power loss may require the time and day to be reset, but the heating schedules remain in memory.

What does the service interval function do?

When enabled, the service interval reminder displays a notification after a set period (typically 12 months) to prompt boiler servicing. This is an optional feature that can be turned off if not needed.
