Description

The Sangamo Powersaver Select is a programmable timer switch with selectable 24-hour, 5/2 day (weekday/weekend) and 7-day scheduling modes. The unit fits into a standard single-gang surface or flush back box and controls connected loads via 10 independently programmable on/off events per day, displayed on a backlit LCD screen showing time, day and program status.

Designed for controlling heating circuits, immersion heaters, lighting circuits and ventilation systems in residential and light commercial settings, the timer replaces a standard light switch or fused spur and switches loads up to 16A resistive or 3A inductive. The multi-press boost function provides temporary override in 30-minute, 1-hour or 2-hour increments without altering the underlying program. A button lock prevents accidental reprogramming once the schedule is set.

The white housing measures 88mm square and 44mm deep, matching standard UK switch plate dimensions. The timer includes automatic summer/winter time adjustment and retains programming during power cuts via internal battery backup. The LCD is readable in daylight and provides blue backlighting for low-light visibility. Programming is via four tactile buttons below the display, with intuitive navigation through day, hour and minute settings.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between 24-hour, 5/2 day and 7-day modes?

24-hour mode repeats the same schedule every day. 5/2 day mode lets you set one schedule for weekdays and a different one for weekends. 7-day mode allows each day of the week to have its own independent program. Select the mode that matches how your heating or lighting pattern varies across the week.

Does it retain programming during a power cut?

Yes. The timer includes battery backup to retain all programmed schedules and time settings during mains power interruptions. The backup battery is pre-installed and provides several years of standby protection.

What is the boost function used for?

The boost function provides temporary override without changing your saved programs. Press the boost button once for 30 minutes, twice for 1 hour, or three times for 2 hours of continuous on-time. After the boost period expires, the timer returns to the programmed schedule.

What back box is required for installation?

The timer fits a standard single-gang UK back box, either surface-mounted or flush. A 25mm minimum back box depth is recommended. The unit wires into the mains supply in the same way as a standard switch or fused spur — isolate the circuit before installation and follow the wiring diagram in the manual.
