Description

The Sangamo FS 64.38 is a 7-day analogue panel timer with a voltage-free 16A changeover contact and a 100-hour battery backup. The timer uses a mechanical dial with captive 1-hour segments that are manually pushed in or pulled out to create the on/off programme, running on a 24-hour clock face across seven days. The voltage-free contact allows the timer to control loads on circuits separate from the timer's own power supply, making it suitable for switching heating, pumps, lighting, ventilation and industrial equipment.

Designed for installation in control panels, distribution boards, or mounted directly to walls via the surface-mount option, the timer fits standard 35mm DIN rail or can be panel-mounted using the fixing lugs visible on the body. The 97mm x 80mm footprint and 62mm depth fit most enclosures designed for modular timers. The manual override button on the top of the unit allows the contact to be manually switched on or off with automatic return to the programmed schedule, useful for testing or temporary override without disrupting the weekly programme.

The 100-hour battery reserve maintains the clock and programme during power cuts or when the timer is disconnected for installation work, so the schedule does not need to be reprogrammed after brief outages. The contact status display shows whether the output is currently on or off. Made in Germany, the timer operates on 230V 50-60Hz mains supply and the contact is rated at 16A 250V, handling resistive loads up to 3,680W or inductive loads following the manufacturer's derating guidance in the manual.

Frequently Asked

What does voltage-free contact mean?

The 16A changeover contact is isolated from the timer's own power supply, allowing it to switch loads on circuits with different voltages or to control multiple independent circuits. This makes the timer safe for use in systems where the timer's 230V supply must not appear on the switched circuit.

How is the weekly programme set?

The dial has captive 1-hour segments around a 24-hour clock face. Push a segment inward to switch the output on during that hour, pull it outward to switch the output off. The dial rotates through seven days, so you set Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc. in sequence as the dial turns.

What happens during a power cut?

The 100-hour battery reserve keeps the clock running and preserves the programme for up to four days without mains power. When power returns, the timer continues from the correct time without needing to be reset.

Can it be mounted on DIN rail?

Yes. The timer fits standard 35mm DIN rail using the clips on the rear of the body. It can also be panel-mounted using the fixing lugs or surface-mounted to a wall using the appropriate backplate.
