Description

The Sangamo 26404 is a 4-channel 7-day programmable time switch designed for DIN rail mounting in commercial, industrial and residential electrical distribution boards. Each of the four channels operates an independent volt-free 16A changeover contact, allowing a single timer to control four separate circuits or devices from one 4-module enclosure. The LCD display shows date, time and channel status, with 300 memory locations available for storing switching events across the week.

Designed for applications requiring multiple independent timed outputs from a single controller — such as lighting zones in commercial buildings, HVAC fan scheduling, pump control, or separate security lighting circuits — the 26404 removes the need for four individual timers. Each channel can be programmed with different daily or weekly schedules, and the volt-free changeover contacts mean the switch can control both low-voltage and mains circuits without direct electrical connection to the load. The 10-year battery reserve maintains programming and timekeeping during mains power interruptions.

The 26404 accepts standard manual programming via the front panel buttons, and is also compatible with Sangamo's optional key programming accessory and EasyVUE Connect wireless hub for remote setup and monitoring. External inputs allow override or trigger functionality from third-party sensors or controllers. The 75mm x 125mm x 65mm enclosure occupies four standard DIN rail module widths and mounts onto 35mm top-hat rail in consumer units, distribution boards and control panels rated for 230V AC supply.

Frequently Asked

What does 'volt-free changeover contact' mean?

A volt-free contact has no voltage present at the terminals when open. The 26404's changeover contacts act as simple switches that can be wired into any circuit voltage (within the 16A rating) without creating electrical connection between the timer's mains supply and the controlled load. This makes them safe for controlling low-voltage systems, motors, or isolating circuits where direct mains switching is not suitable.

How many switching events can be programmed?

The 26404 provides 300 memory locations across all four channels. Each switching event (on or off) uses one location, so you could program 75 on/off cycles per channel, or allocate memory unevenly depending on which channels need more complex schedules.

Does the timer lose its programming during a power cut?

No. The 10-year battery reserve maintains both timekeeping and stored programming during mains power interruptions. When power is restored the timer continues operating on schedule without needing to be reprogrammed.

What are the external inputs used for?

External inputs allow the 26404 to accept override signals from PIR sensors, photocells, building management systems or manual override switches. This allows the timer's scheduled outputs to be modified by real-time conditions without reprogramming the base schedule.
