Description
The Sangamo Choice Plus is a 3-channel digital programmer with 24-hour, 5/2-day and 7-day scheduling modes, designed for wired control of heating and hot water circuits in domestic boiler systems. The programmer provides independent control for up to three zones or circuits via separate relay outputs, each rated at 2A on 240V AC. The backlit LCD display shows current time, selected programme and active zones, with on-screen indicators for heating, hot water and pump status.
Installed in place of existing mechanical or basic digital timers, the programmer allows homeowners and heating engineers to set up to three ON/OFF periods per day across each channel, with the flexibility to run different schedules for weekdays and weekends (5/2 mode) or individual programmes for each day of the week (7-day mode). Boost mode adds 1, 2 or 3 hours of immediate heating or hot water without altering the stored programme, while holiday mode overrides all schedules to run frost protection or minimal heating during extended absences.
The white ABS housing measures 148mm wide by 90mm tall with a 42mm projection from the wall, fitting standard UK back boxes and replacing most existing programmers without re-wiring. The display is pre-programmed with a default schedule at factory, so the unit is ready to use on installation with no mandatory programming. Automatic summer/winter time adjustment handles British Summer Time changes, and an optional service interval function can trigger a reminder for annual boiler maintenance. The programmer suits pumped central heating systems with or without separate hot water tanks.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between 24-hour, 5/2-day and 7-day modes?
24-hour mode repeats the same schedule every day. 5/2-day mode runs one schedule for weekdays and a different schedule for weekends. 7-day mode allows a unique schedule for each individual day of the week, giving maximum flexibility for households with irregular routines.
Can this control both heating and hot water independently?
Yes. The three channels can be configured to control heating zone 1, heating zone 2, and hot water independently, or any other combination of circuits depending on system requirements. Each channel has separate relay outputs.
Does it need to be programmed before use?
No. The programmer ships with a pre-loaded default schedule, so it will operate heating and hot water circuits immediately on installation. The schedule can be adjusted to suit individual preferences, but programming is not mandatory for basic operation.
What is the service interval function?
The optional service interval function displays a reminder on the screen when a set period (typically 12 months) has elapsed, prompting the user to arrange annual boiler maintenance. This function can be enabled or disabled depending on preference.
