Description

The Neo is an articulated desk lamp with a matt grey metal frame, burnished brass joints at two pivot points, and a hemispherical shade with a white-enamelled interior. The arm adjusts on both joints to direct an E27 bulb (sold separately) onto a desk surface, bedside table or reading position. A weighted cone-shaped base keeps the lamp stable when the arm is extended.

Designed for desks, bedside tables and reading corners, the Neo provides task lighting rather than ambient light. The two-section arm allows the shade to be positioned between 200-500mm from the base depending on joint angle, covering a typical A4 desk working area or book reading position. The 1500mm cable is wrapped in black-and-white twisted fabric and terminates in a UK 3-pin plug.

The white enamel inside the shade reflects light downwards and reduces glare when looking up at the lamp from a seated position. The matt grey finish on the outer metal surfaces minimises reflections under daylight and pairs with both industrial and contemporary interiors. The burnished brass joint fittings show a darker, antique-toned brass rather than polished yellow brass, which softens the contrast against the grey frame.

The lamp carries an IP20 rating, limiting it to dry indoor use only. The E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W, though most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED for desk work. Ideal Lux backs the Neo with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Can the arm be adjusted?

Yes. The arm has two burnished brass pivot joints allowing the shade to be angled and positioned between 200-500mm from the base. Both joints hold their position once set.

Is the Neo dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable. However, if you fit a dimmable LED bulb and connect the lamp to an inline cable dimmer or a dimmer-switched outlet, you can reduce the light output that way.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The Neo carries an IP20 rating, which means it is designed for dry indoor use only and is not protected against moisture. It should not be used in bathrooms, kitchens above worktops near sinks, or any other damp environment.
