Description
The Vetra is a 381mm-tall table lamp built around a 176mm opal glass globe held within an asymmetric chrome frame. The frame draws a single line from the flat T-shaped base, up the vertical stem, and out at an angle above the globe, with the frosted glass sphere cradled where the geometry meets. A single E14 bulb (up to 60W, sold separately) sits inside the globe.
The compact 176mm globe diameter and narrow base footprint make the Vetra suited to bedside tables, console tables, narrow shelving and desk corners where a larger drum-shaded lamp would crowd the surface. Frosted opal glass diffuses the bulb evenly, giving a soft glow rather than a directional beam, which works well as secondary lighting beside a sofa or as a low-level reading aid on a nightstand.
The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and pairs cleanly with grey, white and cool-toned interiors, as well as with darker materials like walnut or charcoal where the metal acts as a brighter accent. At 1.4kg the lamp has enough weight to sit stably on lighter furniture without feeling top-heavy, and the inline cord switch on the cable means the lamp can be operated without reaching to the base.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Vetra take?
The lamp takes one E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately. A 4-6W warm-white LED in 2700K-3000K gives a comfortable glow through the opal glass for bedside or accent lighting.
Is the Vetra dimmable?
The lamp itself does not include a dimmer. Dimming is possible by fitting a dimmable E14 bulb and using a compatible plug-in dimmer or wall dimmer on the circuit. Check the bulb packaging and dimmer specifications for compatibility.
How is it switched on and off?
An inline rocker switch on the cable controls the lamp, so it can be operated without reaching for the base. The cable terminates in a standard UK plug.
What size surfaces suit this lamp?
At 381mm tall with a 176mm globe and a narrow base, the Vetra suits bedside tables from around 35cm wide upwards, console tables, narrow shelving and desk corners. It is too small to anchor a large sideboard on its own but works well in a pair or alongside other accessories.
