Description
The Vetra is a 38.1cm table lamp built from slim matt black tubular steel and a 17.6cm opal glass globe. The frame rises from a low tripod base, runs vertically past the globe and finishes in a short angled crossbar at the top, giving the lamp a graphic, architectural silhouette. The globe is suspended off-centre against the upright, lit by a single E14 bulb up to 60W (sold separately).
Designed as a desk and console lamp, the Vetra suits home offices, bedside tables on slimmer nightstands, and shelving where a sculptural light source is wanted without a wide footprint. The opal glass diffuses the bulb evenly, casting a soft ambient glow rather than directional task light, which makes it a useful secondary light next to a dedicated reading lamp or overhead fitting. The 220-240V mains cable exits at the rear of the base.
The matt black finish on the metalwork sits flat under daylight and at night, holding the geometric line of the frame without reflective highlights. At 1.4kg the lamp is light enough to reposition easily but the tripod base keeps it stable on hard surfaces. The opal globe is a complete sphere rather than a half-shade, so light spreads in all directions and the lamp reads as a glowing orb against a dark frame when switched on.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Vetra take?
The lamp takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum, sold separately. A warm-white 4-6W LED at 2700K-3000K works well behind opal glass for a soft ambient glow.
Is it dimmable?
The lamp does not include a dimmer of its own, but it can be used on a dimmer circuit if a dimmable E14 bulb is fitted. Compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — please contact us before pairing if you need confirmation.
How much light does it give off?
The opal glass globe diffuses the bulb evenly in all directions, producing soft ambient light rather than focused task light. It works as a secondary or accent light on a desk, console or bedside, alongside a dedicated reading lamp or overhead fitting.
What size surface does it suit?
At 38.1cm tall with a low tripod base footprint, the Vetra suits desks, consoles, sideboards and slimmer nightstands. Its compact diameter makes it usable on shelves where a wider drum-shade lamp would not fit.
