Description
The Funk is a 52cm table lamp built around a tall conical metal shade in matt black, set on a slim black stem with a brushed brass pivot joint and a weighted circular base. The shade interior is finished in a beaten gold texture that catches and warms the light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately), throwing a softer amber tone onto the surface below than the matt black exterior would suggest.
Designed as a desk and bedside lamp, the Funk works on writing desks, home office worktops, console tables and bedside cabinets. The shade pivots on the brass joint at the top of the stem, allowing the cone to be tilted forward over a book, laptop or keyboard for direct task light, or angled upwards to wash a wall. An inline switch sits on the base for easy reach without fumbling for a cord.
The 28cm shade diameter and 52cm overall height place the Funk in the compact desk-lamp bracket rather than the larger living-room table lamp range, so it suits worktops from around 60cm depth upwards without crowding the surface. The matt black metalwork pairs with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors, while the brass pivot and gold shade interior add the warm metallic accent that stops the lamp reading as purely utilitarian.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Funk take?
The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A vintage-style filament bulb works well with the open conical shade, as the bulb is partly visible from below and the filament adds to the look. For task use, a 6-10W warm-white LED at 2700K-3000K is a practical choice.
Can the head be adjusted?
Yes. The shade pivots on the brushed brass joint at the top of the stem, so the cone can be tilted forward to direct light onto a desk surface or angled upwards to wash a wall. The stem itself is fixed.
Is it suitable for use as a desk lamp?
Yes. At 52cm tall with a 28cm shade and a weighted base, the Funk sits comfortably on a standard desk and the adjustable head directs light onto the work surface. An inline switch on the base makes it easy to operate without reaching for a wall socket.
How is the lamp switched on?
A rotary switch is built into the base of the lamp, visible at the front of the circular base in brass. There is no separate in-line cord switch.
