Description

The Vetra is a 38cm table lamp built around a single opal glass globe held against an angled brushed gold metal frame. The frame runs as one continuous tube from a horizontal floor bar, up through the globe, and out at an angle above it, with the matt-white sphere fixed at the intersection. A single E14 bulb (max 60W, sold separately) sits inside the globe.

At 38cm tall and 17.6cm wide, the Vetra suits bedside tables, console tables, sideboards and shelves where a compact accent light is needed. The horizontal bar gives the lamp a stable footprint without requiring a heavy weighted base, and the 1.4kg overall weight keeps it easy to reposition. The black mains cable exits at the rear of the base for routing behind furniture.

The opal glass diffuses the bulb evenly, producing a soft glow rather than a directed beam, which makes the Vetra better suited to ambient and bedside use than to task reading. The brushed gold finish on the metalwork has a warm, low-sheen tone that pairs with mid-century, contemporary and mixed-metal interiors. The asymmetric geometry of the frame gives the lamp a graphic silhouette when viewed against a plain wall.

What bulb does the Vetra take?

The Vetra takes one E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. A 4-6W warm-white LED at 2700K-3000K works well for bedside or ambient use.

Is it bright enough for reading?

The opal glass globe is designed to diffuse light evenly rather than direct it, so the Vetra produces ambient rather than task light. It suits bedside reading at close range but is not a substitute for a directed reading lamp.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself has no inline dimmer or switch dimmer. Dimming depends on whether the bulb fitted is dimmable and whether it is paired with a compatible dimmer plug or wall dimmer.

Where does the cable exit?

The black mains cable exits at the rear of the horizontal base bar, allowing it to be routed behind a bedside table, console or shelf without being visible from the front.
