Description
The Monkey Standing Table Lamp is a 54cm-tall figural lamp cast in white resin, modelled as a life-sized monkey standing upright on two feet with one arm raised to hold an exposed E27 bulb. The bulb sits in a small lampholder gripped in the monkey's hand, with the cable trailing down the raised arm and out at floor level. The matt white finish picks up the sculpted fur texture across the body, face and tail.
The lamp works as a sculptural object first and a light source second, suiting living rooms, studies, hallway consoles and shop displays where a tall figural piece can stand on a side table, sideboard or low shelf. With a 46cm width across the outstretched limbs, it needs a clear surface footprint of around 50cm to display without crowding adjacent objects. The exposed bulb is the only light element, so bulb choice directly shapes the look.
The resin is cast in a single piece including the body, tail and the raised arm holding the lampholder, then hand-finished to bring out the moulded fur detail. The standing pose, upturned face and grip on the bulb give the figure a clear character that reads from across a room. Pair with a clear or tinted GLS filament bulb (sold separately) to keep the visible bulb part of the composition rather than hidden behind a shade.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The lamp takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Because the bulb is fully exposed in the monkey's raised hand, a GLS filament bulb is the most popular choice as the bulb itself becomes part of the sculptural composition.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
This is the indoor version, finished in white resin and not rated for outdoor exposure. Keep the lamp in a dry, sheltered position away from rain, frost and direct splashing.
How big is it on a table?
The lamp stands 54cm tall with a 46cm reach across the outstretched arm and tail. Allow around 50cm of clear surface depth so the raised arm and curling tail are not pressed against a wall or adjacent objects.
How is the resin cleaned?
Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth, working into the sculpted fur texture with a soft brush if needed. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth with water only — avoid solvents, polishes and abrasive cleaners, which can dull the matt white finish.
