Description
The Carved table lamp pairs a rectangular block of natural Spanish alabaster with a hand-carved shell relief on the front face, set on a clear crystal plinth and topped with a tailored white rectangular PVC shade. A brass finial and brass collar at the shade fitter draw a vertical line through the composition, while a single E27 fitting (bulb sold separately) sits inside the shade. Overall height is 650mm with a 400mm shade width.
Sized for console tables, sideboards and bedside cabinets, the lamp suits hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where a sculptural table light is needed alongside ambient ceiling lighting. The 200mm depth keeps it close to the wall on narrow consoles, and the 400mm shade width gives a generous spread of light without dominating a smaller surface. A pair works well flanking a wide console or bed.
Each alabaster block is cut and carved individually, so the veining, tonal variation and the exact rendering of the shell relief differ between pieces. When lit, the alabaster body glows softly from within as light passes through the stone around the bulb, giving a second, lower light source beneath the shade. The crystal base lifts the heavy stone block visually and catches reflected light from the brass detailing above.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K suits the alabaster body and gives a soft glow through the stone as well as direct light through the shade.
Does the alabaster glow when lit?
Yes. Although the bulb sits inside the fabric shade, light passes down into the carved alabaster block, allowing the stone's natural veining and the carved shell relief to show through softly when the lamp is on.
Does each piece look the same?
No. The alabaster is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, colour banding and the exact appearance of the carved shell vary between pieces. This is a feature of the material rather than a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays and chemical cleaners — alabaster is porous and softer than marble, and liquid can mark the surface. The crystal base can be cleaned with a standard glass cloth.
