The Ascot is a 45cm Art Deco-inspired table lamp built around a polished gold metal cage of four interlocking oval rings, topped with a matt black hemispherical dome shade and set on a circular black metal base. Four G9 lamp holders sit inside the cage frame, casting light upward into the dome and outward through the gold rings. The 25cm shade diameter keeps the proportions compact for side tables, consoles and bedside use.

The lamp suits living rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls where a sculptural accent light is wanted alongside primary ambient lighting. The downward-facing dome directs light onto the surface beneath, making the Ascot useful as a soft reading or task light next to an armchair or bed, while the open gold cage allows secondary light to spill outward and cast patterned reflections on nearby surfaces. The compact 25cm footprint fits comfortably on standard 40cm-deep side tables.

The all-metal construction pairs a matt black powder-coated dome and base with a high-shine gold finish on the four oval rings, creating a deliberate contrast between the two finishes. The four G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately) sit at the centre of the cage, where the gold tubing reflects and amplifies the light. What bulbs does the Ascot take?

The lamp takes four G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G9 LED bulbs are recommended for lower heat output and longer life. Choose a warm-white colour temperature around 2700K-3000K to suit the gold and black finish.

Is it dimmable?

The lamp itself does not include an integrated dimmer. Dimming depends on the bulbs fitted and whether it is wired to a compatible dimmer switch or plugged into a dimming plug. Use dimmable G9 LED bulbs paired with a confirmed-compatible dimmer.

Where does the light go from the dome shade?

The hemispherical shade directs light downward onto the surface below, making the Ascot useful as a soft task or reading light on a bedside table or side table. Secondary light spills sideways through the open gold cage, reflecting off the polished rings.

How is the gold finish maintained?

Wipe the gold rings with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid abrasive cloths, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can mark the plated finish. The matt black dome and base can be wiped with a barely-damp cloth if needed.
