Description
The Lunar is a 40cm globe table lamp formed from silk-infused acrylic and finished by hand to resemble the cratered, veined surface of the moon. The sphere sits on a slim bronze-tone metal disc base no wider than the globe's lower curve, so the lamp reads almost entirely as a single suspended orb. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the sphere and lights the shade from within.
The 40cm scale suits low sideboards, console tables behind a sofa, wide bedside tables and floor positions in a corner, where the globe form works as a sculptural accent as much as a light source. Because the entire sphere glows when lit rather than directing light up or down, the Lunar reads as ambient lighting and pairs well with separate task lights for reading or work. The compact disc base keeps the footprint to roughly 15cm, leaving the surface around it usable.
The shade is built from acrylic with silk fibres set into the material, giving the surface its translucent, paper-like depth and the irregular dark veining visible across the globe. Each lamp is hand-painted, so the pattern of marks, shadows and tonal variation differs between pieces, no two finishes are identical. When unlit the globe reads as a soft off-white stone; when lit, the silk fibres and painted veining show through as warm shadows across an even glow.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Lunar take?
The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. An E27 GLS filament bulb suits the moon-like aesthetic, and a warm-white LED equivalent between 6-10W at 2700K gives an even, ambient glow through the silk-infused shade.
Does each lamp look the same?
No. The shade is hand-painted with silk fibres set into the acrylic, so the dark veining, shadows and tonal variation across the globe differ between pieces. The overall moon-like character is consistent, but the exact pattern is unique to each lamp.
Is it heavy or fragile?
The acrylic shade is lightweight relative to its 40cm size, which keeps the lamp manageable on standard furniture. The silk-infused acrylic is more resilient than glass but should still be handled with care to protect the hand-painted surface from scuffs.
How is the shade cleaned?
Dust gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid damp cloths, household sprays and chemical cleaners, as moisture and solvents can mark the silk fibres and lift the hand-painted finish.
