Description
The Virelle is a 190mm arched dome table lamp carved from a single block of natural Spanish alabaster, with an integrated 3000K LED concealed inside the hollowed body. The form is a continuous curve rising from a 140mm circular base to a softly rounded crown, with no visible hardware, cable trim or shade fitting on the exterior. Light passes through the stone walls rather than from a top opening, so the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser.
The compact 190mm height suits side tables, console tables, bedside tables, bookshelves and bathroom vanities where a full-size table lamp would feel oversized. It works as a low-level accent on a sideboard, as bedside reading-adjacent ambient light, or as a pair flanking a sofa or bed. With a 140mm diameter footprint it sits comfortably alongside books, picture frames and trays without dominating the surface.
Each Virelle is cut from a different section of natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining patterns differ noticeably between pieces — some show heavier golden and grey striations through the upper dome, others present cloudier ivory tones with finer mineral lines. When the LED is on, these veins become visible from inside the stone, giving the lamp a different character lit versus unlit. The soft white surface finish keeps the exterior matte and minimises reflection.

Frequently Asked
What size space does the Virelle suit?
At 190mm tall and 140mm in diameter, the Virelle is a compact accent lamp rather than a primary light source. It works on bedside tables, side tables, console tables, shelves and bathroom vanities where a full-size table lamp would crowd the surface. Two placed as a pair flanking a sofa or bed give symmetrical low-level ambient light.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each lamp is cut from a different section of natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral striations and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. Some show heavier golden and grey lines through the dome, others are cloudier and more uniform ivory. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.
Is the LED replaceable?
The 3000K LED is integrated into the lamp body rather than fitted as a replaceable bulb. Integrated LEDs typically have a rated life of 20,000-30,000 hours of normal use. The lamp carries a 2-year warranty as standard.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
