Description

The Violla is a 22cm compact table lamp built from layered Opalflex petals folded into a spherical shade, set on a small base with an inline cord switch. The shade takes a single E14 LED filament bulb up to 6W, and the translucent white Opalflex diffuses the output through dozens of overlapping folds, producing a soft ambient glow rather than directed task light.

At 22cm wide and 22cm high with a weight of 0.6kg, the Violla suits bedside tables, console tables in hallways, side tables next to a sofa, and shelf positions where a low-output accent light is wanted. The inline switch on the cord allows the lamp to be turned on and off without reaching to the bulb. The 110-220V rating means it can be used in UK homes with a standard E14 bulb fitted.

Opalflex is a flexible, recyclable technopolymer developed for sculpted lighting shades. The material holds its folded form, takes light cleanly without yellowing, and is lighter and more impact-resistant than glass alternatives of similar size. Each Violla shade is hand-assembled from individually folded petals, so the exact pattern of folds and the way light catches the shade varies subtly between pieces. What bulb does the Violla take?

The lamp takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) LED filament bulb up to 6W. A warm-white 2700K filament bulb works best with the white Opalflex shade and produces the softest ambient glow.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The Violla itself uses a simple inline cord switch (on/off only). Dimming depends entirely on whether the E14 bulb fitted is dimmable and whether it is plugged into a socket controlled by a compatible dimmer. Standard non-dimmable LED filament bulbs will not dim.

What is Opalflex?

Opalflex is a flexible, recyclable technopolymer used for sculpted lighting shades. It holds folded forms, diffuses light evenly without yellowing, and is lighter and more impact-resistant than glass shades of comparable size.

How is the shade cleaned?

Dust the petals gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with mild soapy water is acceptable. Avoid solvents, abrasive cleaners and saturating the shade with water.
