Specialist switches and sockets for jobs the standard plate cannot cover

Some spots in a home or workplace call for more than a plain switch or socket, and this range gathers the units that handle those jobs. Trailing edge dimmers run from one to four gang, including pull cord versions for a bathroom or bedroom, so lighting can be set to the level a room needs. Lockable double pole switches and sockets in 13A and 20A keep a circuit or appliance under control where access has to be limited, with metal clad, screwless and moulded finishes to suit a plant room, study or commercial space.

Charging is built in where it earns its place. Under-cabinet 13A two gang sockets carry dual USB-A and USB-C, handy above a worktop, while pop-up units sit flush until pressed and bring USB charging up to desk or island height. One pop-up socket adds a 10W wireless charging pad on top. Finishes span matt black, matt white, antique brass, polished chrome and brushed chrome, so a specialist fitting can still match the rest of a room. A few come in stainless steel, black nickel or gunmetal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a trailing edge dimmer suit?
Trailing edge dimmers in this range are made for dimmable LED loads, with wattage ranges marked on each unit. They come from one to four gang, and pull cord versions let you dim from a hanging cord rather than a wall switch.

What is a lockable double pole socket for?
A lockable double pole switch or socket lets you isolate a circuit or appliance and keep it switched off, useful where you need to limit who can turn the supply back on. They are stocked in 13A and 20A, some with a neon indicator and some in metal clad form.

Where do under-cabinet and pop-up USB sockets work best?
Under-cabinet two gang sockets with dual USB-A and USB-C suit the space above a kitchen worktop, while pop-up sockets sit flush in a surface and rise when pressed, bringing power and USB charging up to a desk or island.

Does any unit offer wireless charging?
Yes, one pop-up socket carries a 10W wireless charging pad alongside dual USB-A and USB-C, so a compatible phone can charge on the pad while other devices use the USB ports.

What is metal clad used for?
Metal clad switches and sockets have a sturdy metal housing that suits garages, plant rooms and commercial areas where a moulded plate would be exposed to knocks. Several lockable double pole units in this range come in metal clad form.
