Description

The Knightsbridge RJ45 network outlet provides a single CAT5e Ethernet port behind an anthracite screwless faceplate with a built-in gasket. The outlet uses IDC terminals on the rear for tool-free cable termination and includes shuttered protection over the RJ45 port when not in use. The fitting is certified to BS 5733 for data transmission performance.

Designed for hardwired network points in home offices, media rooms and commercial installations where Wi-Fi is unreliable or bandwidth-heavy devices need stable Ethernet connections, the outlet fits a standard 35mm minimum back box depth. The screwless design means the cover plate clips onto a separate sub-frame with no visible fixings on the wall, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed faceplates. The 4.3mm projection from the wall is minimal compared to surface-mount alternatives.

The anthracite finish is a deep charcoal grey with a smooth, low-sheen surface that sits between matt black and brushed steel in tone. What does IDC termination mean?

IDC stands for Insulation Displacement Connector. The cable cores push directly into the terminals at the rear of the outlet without needing to strip the insulation first. An IDC punch-down tool is included with the outlet for this purpose.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the outlet and re-clipped without disturbing the cable connections.
