Description

Two coaxial sockets sit side by side on one screwless plate, finished in a carbon fibre texture that softens light rather than throwing it back. There are no screw heads on the face, so the square plate reads as a clean panel of about 88mm across. Each socket takes a standard coaxial connector, which means an aerial feed and a satellite feed can arrive at the same point on the wall rather than on two separate plates.

It suits living rooms, bedrooms and studies where more than one signal lands in the same corner: an aerial and a dish, or a feed shared on to another set. We reach for a dual plate like this behind a media unit, where two single television points would leave a second faceplate sitting awkwardly nearby. It belongs on low voltage signal and data circuits, not on anything carrying mains, and it is made for dry rooms inside the house rather than garages, porches or anywhere it might meet weather.

The plate is moulded polycarbonate with metal at the connectors, and it is made to BS EN 60669. The textured face is more forgiving of fingerprints than a gloss one; when it needs attention, switch off at the consumer unit, wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away, keeping solvents and cream cleaners well clear so the texture is not polished flat. It carries a ten year warranty. The dark carbon fibre look sits happily against charcoal paint, black-framed joinery and slate or concrete surfaces, and we would keep the other plates on the same wall in a matching texture so the run looks deliberate rather than assembled from odds and ends.
