How does the key-lock mechanism work?

The key-lock cylinder sits above the two outlets. When locked, a single locking bar engages both sockets simultaneously, keeping the shutters closed so that plugs cannot be inserted. When unlocked, both outlets function as standard 13A sockets. Two keys are supplied with the socket.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Can the screwless plate be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
