Description
The Knightsbridge CAT6A RJ45 outlet module is a single-port unshielded twisted pair network socket designed for euro-module faceplate systems. The module measures 25 x 50mm and fits standard grid faceplates alongside other modules for power, data, AV and telephony. It terminates CAT6A cables via insulation displacement contact (IDC) terminals accepting 16-20 AWG conductors, and presents a shuttered RJ45 socket on the front face.
Designed for structured cabling in residential, office and light commercial installations, the module supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet transmission up to 100 metres at 500MHz bandwidth when used with certified CAT6A unshielded twisted pair cable. It maintains backwards compatibility with CAT6 and CAT5e networks, though transmission speed is limited by the lowest-spec component in the link. The module supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications including IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points.
The grey ABS construction provides impact resistance and a neutral finish that blends with most faceplate styles. The module recesses 15mm into the mounting box, requiring a minimum 25mm back box depth for safe installation. The shuttered RJ45 socket prevents dust ingress when not in use and protects the contacts during cable insertion. Conforming to ANSI/TIA/EIA 568B.2-10 standards, the module offers lower alien crosstalk than CAT6, improving signal clarity on adjacent cable runs in high-density installations.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between CAT6A and CAT6?
CAT6A supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 100 metres at 500MHz bandwidth, whereas CAT6 is limited to 10Gbps over 55 metres or 1Gbps over 100 metres. CAT6A also offers lower crosstalk, making it more suitable for high-density cable runs where multiple data lines run in parallel.
What faceplate systems is this compatible with?
This module fits standard 25 x 50mm euro-module grid faceplates. Knightsbridge produces compatible faceplates in a range of finishes including white, black, chrome and brass, with 1-6 module capacity. Check the faceplate's module aperture size before ordering.
Can I use CAT6 cable with this module?
Yes, the module is backwards compatible with CAT6 and CAT5e cables, but the overall link performance will be limited by the lowest-spec component. For full 10Gbps capability over 100 metres, use certified CAT6A UTP cable throughout the run.
Does this module support Power over Ethernet?
Yes. The module supports PoE, PoE+ and PoE++ (802.3af/at/bt) applications when used with appropriate switches and cabling. This allows it to power devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points and smart building sensors without separate power supplies.
