Commercial Lighting

Finding your way around our commercial lighting

Lighting a workplace, warehouse, retail unit or public building calls for a different approach to lighting a home. You need fittings that meet the demands of the space, stand up to daily use and help you satisfy the regulations that come with commercial premises. This hub brings together nine ranges built for exactly that, and the sections below explain what each one covers so you can head straight to the right place. Whether you are wiring a fresh build, refitting an existing site or replacing a handful of failing fittings, we want to point you towards the range that answers your brief.

Everyday linear and general lighting

For long runs of clean, bright light across corridors, storerooms, garages and workshops, start with Batten Lights. This range is weighted towards battens themselves, with a good number of emergency-rated options and a few accessories alongside them. Most fittings here use integrated LED, run at cool white and carry a white finish with polycarbonate bodies, which makes them a sensible pick for practical, hard-working areas. Many are tagged for commercial and garage use with a wide beam angle, so light spreads evenly rather than pooling in spots.

When your priority is flat, uniform light across an office ceiling or a reception area, look at LED Panel Lights instead. This range is built around recessed and surface panels, largely in a white finish, running at cool white with a wide beam angle. Most carry an IP20 rating, which suits dry indoor spaces, and the majority are integrated LED. If you are working to a suspended ceiling grid or want a low-glare wash of ambient light for desk-based work, this is the range to open first.

Recessed spotlighting and accent

Commercial Downlights covers recessed fittings for kitchens, hallways and general commercial interiors. Every product here is a downlight, mostly in a small size band, with metal and aluminium bodies that hold up well over time. Many are single-light and recessed, and the bulk carry an IP20 rating for indoor use. Choose this range when you want a tidy ceiling with light directed downwards, whether that is for a commercial kitchen, a hallway run or a customer-facing space where you would rather see the light than the fitting.

Rugged fittings for tough and outdoor sites

Bulkhead Lights is the range to reach for when a fitting needs to cope with the weather or knocks. It leans heavily towards outdoor wall lights, with a set of wall lights and a healthy number of accessories too. Most are modern in style, tagged for outdoor use and rated for outdoor conditions, with many carrying an IP65 equivalent robustness and sitting in the 10 to 25W band. Integrated LED, cool white and a wide beam angle are common here, and a good share are described as multi-purpose, so a single fitting can serve entrances, stairwells, walkways and service areas.

For bright, directional output across yards, car parks, loading bays and building exteriors, Industrial Floodlights is the dedicated range. Every product is a floodlight with integrated LED, tagged for outdoor use, mostly non-dimmable and finished in black with a wide beam angle. Cool white is the common colour temperature. If you need to throw a lot of light across an open area after dark, this is where to look rather than trying to stretch a wall light to do the job.

The broad industrial range

Industrial Lighting is our largest range and acts as a catch-all for heavy-duty environments. It blends outdoor wall lights, battens and emergency-rated fittings, so it pulls together several of the fixture types found in the more specialised ranges. Most products are integrated LED, non-dimmable and cool white, in a modern style with a wide beam angle. Polycarbonate and metal bodies feature strongly, and a large share carry an IP65 rating, which makes this a good starting point for warehouses, plant rooms, workshops and covered external areas where dust and moisture are a concern. If you are not yet sure which specific fixture type you need for an industrial space, browse here first and then move to a narrower range once you have settled on a format.

High ceilings and the fittings that reach them

High Bay Lighting & Accessories serves spaces with a lot of height, such as warehouses, sports halls and large industrial units. This range is weighted towards accessories, with a smaller number of ceiling lights, and it carries an industrial style throughout. Many items are tagged for commercial use, and materials run to polycarbonate and metal, with black among the finishes. If you are planning lighting for a tall space, use this range to find the mounting parts, reflectors and related components that go with high-level fittings, alongside the ceiling lights it holds.

Meeting emergency and safety requirements

Commercial premises come with obligations around escape lighting and clear signage, and two ranges are built for that. Emergency Lighting is the broad range for backup fittings, made up mostly of emergency-rated products with some accessories. Many use integrated LED, sit in the under-10W band and carry a white finish, and a good share are tagged maintained or non-maintained, which matters when you are matching a fitting to how the circuit behaves in normal use. IP20 is common, and colour temperatures include daylight. Reach for this range when you need light to keep working, or to switch on, during a mains failure so people can move safely.

Fire Exit Signs is the focused range for marking escape routes. Almost every product here is emergency-rated, with many tagged for commercial use and a set carrying a 3W rating. Maintained or non-maintained options appear again, most items are integrated LED, and many are rated IP20 with a white finish. Use this range to make sure your exits and routes are clearly identified, and pair it with the Emergency Lighting range to cover both the signage and the escape lighting your building needs.

Deciding where to start

If your job is mainly about general brightness indoors, begin with Batten Lights, LED Panel Lights or Commercial Downlights depending on the ceiling and the look you want. If the space is outdoors, exposed or hard-wearing, look at Bulkhead Lights, Industrial Floodlights or the wider Industrial Lighting range. For tall interiors, go to High Bay Lighting & Accessories. And whatever the building, do not overlook Emergency Lighting and Fire Exit Signs, since these cover the safety side that commercial sites are required to address. Open the range that matches your space and its demands, and you will land on the fittings that fit the brief.
