Description

The PowerMaster 5ft twin batten fitting accepts two T8 LED tubes (sold separately) in a white powder-coated steel housing with dual T8 lampholders wired for single-end connection. The fitting measures 1237mm long, 102mm wide and 67mm deep, running on 220-240V mains supply.

Designed for offices, workshops, retail spaces, classrooms and warehouses where functional overhead lighting is needed, the twin-tube configuration delivers more output than a single-tube batten without requiring double the ceiling fixings. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor locations or damp spaces. The fitting mounts directly to ceiling joists or plasterboard with appropriate fixings (not included).

The single-end connection simplifies wiring compared to double-end fittings, as live, neutral and earth connections are made at one end of each tube rather than requiring a ballast bypass at both ends. The white finish provides a clean, unobtrusive ceiling presence that works in both commercial and residential utility spaces. At 0.61kg the fitting is light enough for single-person installation on most ceiling types.

Are the LED tubes included?

No. The fitting accepts two T8 LED tubes (typically 1500mm length for a 5ft batten) but tubes are sold separately. Choose tubes with single-end connection compatible with this fitting.

What's the difference between single-end and double-end LED tubes?

Single-end tubes have live and neutral pins at one end only, simplifying installation as you only wire one end of each tube. Double-end tubes require connection at both ends and are not compatible with this fitting.

Can this be used in a garage or outdoor canopy?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor environments. For garages or covered outdoor areas, look for fittings rated IP44 or higher.

Is it dimmable?

No. The fitting itself has no dimming capability. If dimming is required, you would need to use dimmable T8 LED tubes and a compatible dimmer switch, but this is not a standard configuration for batten fittings.
