Description

The Vire 4ft is a 1120mm tri-proof batten with an integrated 20W LED, selectable colour temperature (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5700K daylight), and IP65/IK08-rated polycarbonate housing. The colour temperature is selected via a switch on the driver before installation, allowing the fitting to be set to match the room function or to complement existing lighting without needing to stock multiple SKUs.

Designed for garages, workshops, utility rooms, commercial corridors, retail stockrooms and light industrial environments, the fitting delivers 2,600lm at 4000K with a 120-degree beam angle that spreads light across the ceiling plane. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, while the IK08 impact rating handles knocks from ladders, trolleys and equipment in active working spaces. The polycarbonate body and diffuser resist yellowing and UV degradation over the fitting's 50,000-hour L70B50 lifespan.

Installation uses surface-mount brackets supplied with the fitting and push-fit terminals accessed through twist-lock end caps, meaning no terminal block screwdriver is needed on site. The fitting supports through-wiring up to 800W, allowing multiple Vire battens to be daisy-chained from a single feed cable across a garage or workshop ceiling. The white finish suits most commercial and industrial environments and the 72mm projection keeps the fitting close to the ceiling in spaces with limited headroom.

How is the colour temperature selected?

The Vire has a small switch on the driver accessed before final installation. Set the switch to position 1 for 3000K warm white, position 2 for 4000K neutral white, or position 3 for 5700K daylight. Once set and the diffuser replaced, the colour temperature remains fixed during use.

Can multiple fittings be wired in series?

Yes. The Vire supports through-wiring up to 800W total load, allowing multiple battens to be daisy-chained from a single feed cable. This simplifies installation across workshop or garage ceilings where running individual feeds to each fitting would be impractical.

What does the IP65 rating cover?

IP65 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. It can be installed in damp environments like unheated garages, outdoor covered areas under canopies, and industrial wash-down zones where splashing may occur.

Is the fitting suitable for cold environments?
