What LumiLife covers, from emergency fittings to everyday LED

We stock the LumiLife range as a commercial LED line built around safety and reliable everyday output. It runs from emergency fittings and exit signs through to work lights, high bays, panels, battens and downlights. Many fittings use integrated LED, and a few are rated for outdoor or industrial use, so the range suits commercial sites, workshops and hallways as readily as a study or utility area.

Emergency lighting and exit signs

Emergency lighting is the part of the range that keeps an escape route usable when the mains supply fails. LumiLife splits these fittings into maintained and non-maintained versions, and the difference matters when you plan a layout. A non-maintained fitting stays dark until the power drops and then runs on its own battery, while a maintained fitting stays lit during normal use and continues on battery during a failure. Exit signs follow the same logic, in maintained and non-maintained modes and in wall-mounted forms, so you can point people towards the nearest way out.

Battery backup and self-testing

Several fittings carry their own backup, and add-on emergency packs give existing downlights, panels and high bay fittings a battery supply that holds the light for a set period during a failure. Self-testing units run their own periodic checks, which cuts the manual log work on larger commercial installs. As a rule, escape routes and assembly points are where these fittings are expected, so plan emergency cover around stairs, corridors, exits and any space people pass through to leave.

Bulkheads, floodlights and work lights

For external walls and service areas, there is an IP65 LumiLife bulkhead that is colour-temperature adjustable, letting you set warm white, cool white or daylight on the same fitting. Options include sensor and emergency-rated versions for plant rooms and stores. Floodlights span a range of wattages in weatherproof finishes, with rechargeable and portable work lights for hands-on jobs where a fixed fitting is not practical.

High bays, panels and downlights

High open spaces are served by UFO-style high bay fittings, with reflectors and motion or daylight sensors to match the mounting height and traffic. For ceilings, LumiLife LED panels come in a range of sizes, many colour-temperature adjustable, with surface-mount frames and suspension kits where there is no recessed void. Recessed downlights are mostly adjustable across warm, cool and daylight settings, with damp-rated versions for areas that see moisture. LED battens, bulbs and a low-voltage transformer round out the range.

Choosing your LumiLife lighting

With emergency fittings, exit signs and a broad commercial LED range in one place, our LumiLife range covers both compliance and everyday light for a site or workspace. Match the IP rating to the location, the emergency duration to the escape route, and have any outdoor or fixed commercial install carried out by a qualified electrician. We offer free delivery worldwide on all orders over £99.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained LumiLife emergency lighting?
A maintained fitting stays lit during normal use and keeps running on its battery if the mains fails, which suits exit signs that must read at all times. A non-maintained fitting stays off until the supply drops, then switches to battery to light an escape route. LumiLife offers both across its emergency downlights, bulkheads and exit signs, so you can mix the two to match where constant light is needed and where backup-only cover is enough.

Where are LumiLife exit signs and emergency fittings usually required?
Emergency fittings are planned around escape routes and the spaces people move through to leave a building, so think stairs, corridors, final exit doors and assembly points. Wall-mounted exit signs with directional arrows point people towards the nearest way out, and non-maintained emergency downlights and bulkheads add light on the route itself. The exact placement and duration for your building should follow the relevant regulations and a competent electrician's assessment.

What does CCT adjustable mean on LumiLife panels and downlights?
CCT adjustable means one fitting can switch between colour temperatures rather than being fixed to a single tone, typically between warm white, cool white and daylight. This is useful when one product needs to suit different rooms, since a warmer setting works in a hallway while a daylight setting reads better in a kitchen, study or workshop. Many LumiLife downlights, panels and some outdoor bulkheads offer this.

Which LumiLife fittings are rated for outdoor or wet areas?
Outdoor and damp-area fittings carry a higher IP rating. Most LumiLife outdoor bulkheads and floodlights are rated against dust and water jets, while several recessed downlights are rated for areas with some moisture and the low-voltage transformer is sealed to a high standard. Indoor-only fittings such as standard panels are for dry interiors. Match the IP rating to the location, and have any outdoor or commercial install carried out by a qualified electrician.

Does LumiLife offer self-testing and battery backup options?
Yes. Alongside standalone emergency fittings, LumiLife supplies add-on emergency packs that give existing downlights, panels and high bay fittings a battery supply during a mains failure, holding the light for a set period. Self-testing units run their own periodic checks, which reduces the manual testing burden on larger commercial sites. The right backup depends on your fitting type and the duration your building's emergency scheme calls for.

Is LumiLife suitable for commercial and industrial projects?
Yes. The range is built for commercial use, from offices, shops and warehouses to shared residential buildings, with panels, high bay fittings, battens and emergency lighting. For a project, check the points that matter for the space: the IP rating for damp or outdoor areas, the emergency duration and self-test features for escape routes, and the output for the mounting height. The product pages list these so you can match fittings to the specification.
