70° Polycarbonate High Bay Reflector - Clear

This is a clear polycarbonate reflector for LED high bay fittings, made to suit the Premium and Essential high bays and to narrow their output to a 70 degree beam. It is a deep dome with almost straight sides that flare out to a wide open mouth, a rolled rim around the bottom edge and fine vertical prismatic ribbing running the full height of the inner face. That ribbing is what softens the view of the diodes above, breaking the light across many small facets instead of letting it arrive as one hard bright disc.

A reflector earns its place where a bare high bay spreads light too widely for the room. In a warehouse with tall racking, a tighter beam keeps more of the output in the aisle and on the picking face rather than on the tops of the racks; in a workshop or a vehicle bay it puts the light on the bench and the floor. The narrower the angle, the further useful light reaches down from the ceiling, which is why a high roof usually wants a tighter beam than an open shop floor at three or four metres. Polycarbonate is a sensible material overhead: it is light for its size and it resists impact far better than glass.

There is nothing electrical to think about: the reflector carries no driver, no diodes and no wiring of its own, so the fitting it attaches to keeps its own wattage, colour temperature and dimming behaviour. The manufacturer does not state an IP rating for it. Check the diameter of your high bay body before ordering, because a reflector is matched to the fitting it belongs to rather than to a wattage. Each unit is one reflector, and the minimum order is 10 in multiples of 10, which suits fitting out a full run of aisles in one go.

What does a 70 degree beam angle change in practice?

It gathers the fitting's output into a tighter cone, so more light lands directly below and less washes across the walls. As a rough guide, a 70 degree beam covers a little over eight metres across at six metres above the floor.

Will it fit my high bay?

It is made for the Premium and Essential LED high bay fittings. The manufacturer does not publish the reflector's diameter, so measure the body of your fitting and compare before you order.

Does adding a reflector make the light brighter?

No. It redirects light the fitting already produces, so the same output covers a smaller area more intensely rather than the fitting making any more lumens than before.

Can I still dim the light once the reflector is on?

Dimming belongs to the high bay and its driver, not to the reflector. The reflector holds no electronics, so it changes nothing about how the fitting is switched or controlled.

What is the reflector made from?
