Description

The LumiLife wall-mounted LED emergency exit sign displays a green running man pictogram with an upward-pointing arrow on a white polycarbonate face. The sign operates in dual mode, emitting 45 lumens when connected to mains power and 40 lumens when running on the internal battery during a power cut. The 6500K daylight colour temperature gives the green pictogram high contrast against the white background for visibility from distance.

Designed for compliance installation in commercial corridors, office stairwells, hotel escape routes and retail back-of-house areas, the sign can be wired for maintained operation (lit continuously) or non-maintained operation (lit only during mains failure). The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments. At 2W power draw in mains mode, the sign runs at negligible energy cost when operated 24/7 in maintained configuration.

The white polycarbonate casing measures approximately 300mm wide by 200mm high and projects around 40mm from the wall once surface-mounted. The up arrow directs building occupants towards stairs or exit doors on upper floors, typically installed at corridor junctions where multiple escape routes branch. The sign accepts 220-240V AC mains input and the internal battery maintains emergency illumination for the duration required by BS 5266-1 or BS EN 60598-2-22 depending on installation context.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between maintained and non-maintained operation?

Maintained means the sign is lit continuously when connected to mains power and switches to battery during a power cut. Non-maintained means the sign only illuminates when mains power fails and the battery takes over. The wiring configuration during installation determines which mode is used.

How long does the emergency battery last during a power cut?

Emergency exit signs typically provide 3 hours of battery runtime to meet BS 5266-1 requirements. Check the specification sheet in the Downloads tab for the exact duration this model provides.

Can this be ceiling-mounted?

The sign is designed for wall mounting. The upward-pointing arrow is intended to direct occupants towards stairs or exits on upper floors, which makes most sense when viewed horizontally from a corridor wall rather than from below on a ceiling.

Is this suitable for outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but offers no protection against moisture ingress. This sign is for indoor use only in dry environments.
