30W IP54 6500K Portable LED Worklight 110V - Yellow & Black

This is a portable worklight rather than a fixed floodlight. Thirty watts of integrated LED sit behind a wide diffused panel that puts out 3600 lumens at 6500K. The broad face is the point of it: light spreads across a work area instead of being thrown at one spot, so shadows fall softer than they do under a lens type floodlight of the same output. The housing is moulded in yellow with black trim around the corners and down one side, and a black stand folds out from the back. The LED is built in, so there is no lamp to buy.

It runs on 110V, the reduced voltage supply used on UK building sites, so it plugs into a site transformer rather than a domestic socket. Check that before you buy: this is the site tool version, not the one for a garage ring main. Beyond site work it suits anywhere a transformer is already in use, from a workshop bay to a loft conversion in progress. At 6500K the light is at the cold, bluish end of white, which is the point on a job where you need to read a label, match a cable colour or see a fine crack in plaster.

The retail pack states IP54, which means the unit is dust protected and guarded against splashing water from any direction, so workshop dust and an open site in poor weather are within what the rating covers. No dimming information is printed on the pack, so we do not claim any and the output should be treated as fixed. The manufacturer does not state a beam angle. It arrives as a single worklight with the stand and bracket fitted, and the minimum order is one.

Can I plug this into a normal household socket?

No. It is built for a 110V supply and carries a 110V plug, so it needs a site transformer between it and the mains.

How much area will 3600 lumens cover?

It will light a garage bay or a room sized working area.

What does 6500K actually look like?

It is daylight white, the coldest of the common white tones, with a slight blue cast. Colours and markings read clearly under it, which is why that tone is chosen for work.

Is it dimmable?

The manufacturer prints no dimming information on the pack and gives no dimming figure, so we cannot say that it is. Plan on running it at full output.

Will I ever need to replace the bulb?

No. The LED is integrated into the panel, so there is no cap to match and no replacement lamp to order later on.

What does the IP54 on the pack mean for working outside?

It is protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction, so working outdoors in poor weather is within the rating. It is not built to be submerged.
