Description
The LumiLife High Bay Controller is a PIR motion sensor and daylight harvesting unit designed for controlling high bay lights in warehouses, factories and commercial spaces with ceiling heights of 6-8m. The controller features 360° detection coverage, adjustable range settings from 25% to 100%, and a built-in daylight sensor that prevents lights from activating when ambient light exceeds a selectable lux threshold.
Controlled via a handheld remote (shown in the image), the unit allows adjustment of detection range, hold time (10 seconds to 30 minutes), stand-by dimming level (0-30%), stand-by period (1 minute to infinite), and daylight sensor threshold (off, 10 lux, 30 lux, 100 lux). The remote includes ON/OFF and AUTO mode buttons, giving manual override control without needing ladder access to the sensor itself. This makes the controller practical for spaces where ceiling access is difficult or infrequent.
The IP65 rating protects the sensor from dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for use in dusty warehouses, light-industrial environments and covered loading bays. The unit operates across a wide temperature range of -30°C to +80°C, handling cold storage facilities and spaces with radiant heat from machinery or roof solar gain. The anti-interference design minimises false triggers from ambient electrical noise.

Frequently Asked
What is the detection range at 6m mounting height?
At 6m mounting height, the 360° sensor covers a circular area with a diameter that varies based on the detection range setting. At 100% sensitivity, the coverage diameter is typically 12-14m. Lower sensitivity settings (75%, 50%, 25%) reduce the detection radius proportionally, allowing fine-tuning to prevent unwanted triggering from adjacent aisles or walkways.
How does the daylight sensor work?
The daylight sensor measures ambient light levels and prevents the PIR from activating the connected high bay lights when ambient light exceeds the selected threshold. For example, setting the sensor to 30 lux means the lights will not activate during daylight hours when natural light provides at least 30 lux, reducing energy consumption in spaces with roof lights or large windows.
What is the stand-by dimming function?
Stand-by dimming holds the connected high bay at a reduced output level (0%, 10%, 20% or 30%) when no motion is detected, rather than switching the light off completely. This provides background safety lighting in warehouses and reduces the warm-up time when motion is detected again, as the lamp does not need to restart from cold.
Is the remote control included?
The remote control is included with the controller. The remote operates at a distance of several metres from the sensor unit, allowing adjustments to be made from ground level without needing ladder access to the ceiling-mounted sensor.
