Description
The LumiLife large spotlight fitting is an 85mm cut-out recessed downlight housing for GU10 bulbs up to 20W, finished with a white bezel and black cylindrical body. The fitting uses a quick-connect terminal block mounted on the side of the housing, allowing mains cable to be connected without screwdrivers or wire strippers — push the cable into the spring-loaded terminals and the connection is made.
Designed for new-build ceiling installation or retrofit where existing cut-outs are 85mm diameter, the fitting is fire-rated to Part B (fire safety), Part C (resistance to moisture) and Part E (resistance to sound) of UK Building Regulations. The lamp holder tilts 30° in one direction, allowing the beam to be angled towards a wall, artwork or worktop rather than straight down. The IP20 rating limits use to Zone 3 bathroom areas (outside zones 0, 1, 2) and general residential rooms.
The white powder-coated steel bezel sits flush with the ceiling surface once fitted, hiding the cut edge of the plasterboard. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 20W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or low-energy bulbs depending on the light quality and colour temperature needed. Dimmable when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and compatible dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED bulb between 4-7W and 2700K-3000K for general room lighting or task lighting in kitchens.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, provided you use a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming — dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb and the dimmer model.
What does the quick-connect terminal block do?
The quick-connect terminal block is mounted on the side of the fitting body and allows mains cable to be pushed into spring-loaded terminals without needing a screwdriver or wire stripper. This speeds up installation when fitting multiple downlights across a ceiling.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
The IP20 rating limits use to Zone 3 bathroom areas only — outside zones 0, 1 and 2, typically more than 600mm from a shower head or bath edge. For zones 1 or 2, a higher IP-rated fitting is required.
