Description

The LumiLife surface mounting frame is a white powder-coated steel frame designed to hold 600x1200mm LED panel lights flush against a ceiling or wall without recessing into the surface. The frame creates a 35mm projection from the mounting surface and provides a finished edge around the panel perimeter, converting any 600x1200mm LED panel into a surface-mounted fitting where ceiling voids or recessed installation are not available.

Designed for offices, retail spaces, corridors and residential rooms where ceiling voids are too shallow for recessed panel installation or where the panel needs to be surface-mounted onto a solid ceiling, the frame ships flat-packed and assembles in under five minutes using the included corner brackets. The LED panel slots into the frame from below and is held by spring clips, allowing the panel to be removed for maintenance without dismantling the frame.

The white powder-coated finish on the steel frame matches most ceiling finishes and hides minor installation marks. At 0.85kg the frame is light enough to be mounted onto plasterboard ceilings with appropriate fixings but substantial enough to support panels weighing up to 3kg. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — Zone 3 bathrooms (areas more than 600mm from a water source) or general dry rooms.

The frame is sized for any 600x1200mm LED panel from any manufacturer. The panel slots into the frame from below and is held by spring clips, so the frame works with panels of varying thicknesses up to approximately 12mm.

How much does the frame project from the ceiling?

The frame creates approximately 35mm projection from the mounting surface once installed, depending on the thickness of the LED panel inserted into it. This is the minimum clearance needed for surface-mounting a 600x1200mm panel.

Is assembly required?

Yes. The frame ships flat-packed with corner brackets and fixings. Assembly takes under five minutes and requires no tools beyond a screwdriver for the corner brackets. The assembled frame is then fixed to the ceiling or wall, and the LED panel slots in from below.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating and Zone 3 suitability mean the frame can be used in areas of a bathroom more than 600mm away from any water source (taps, shower heads, baths). It cannot be used in Zones 0, 1 or 2 where direct water contact or high humidity is present.
