This is a recessed emergency downlight that draws 2W and runs on an integrated LED at 6500K, a crisp daylight white chosen so an escape route reads clearly rather than warmly. It is a non maintained unit, and that is the important phrase: the LED stays dark while mains power is present, and lights only when that power fails. The round white bezel is the only part on show once the fitting is in the ceiling, with a single clear lens at its centre and a small green indicator above it marked TEST. Two sprung clips hold it against the ceiling board from behind.

Emergency downlights of this kind go where people walk to get out: corridors, stair landings, lobbies, the head and foot of a flight, and over final exit doors.
