Description

The LumiLife 12W circular LED recessed downlight features a switchable CCT function that allows the colour temperature to be changed between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6500K daylight white via a selector switch on the driver unit. The 900lm output at 12W input provides 75 lumens per watt efficiency, and the 120° beam angle distributes light across a wide area from a ceiling height of 2.4-3m.

Designed for residential and light commercial applications, the downlight suits kitchens, living rooms, hallways, offices and retail spaces where flexibility in colour temperature is needed. The 125-135mm cut-out fits standard UK ceiling voids with at least 100mm clearance above the plasterboard. The white powder-coated trim sits flush with the ceiling once installed, and spring clips secure the fitting without visible fixings from below.

The integrated LED module is rated for 25,000 hours at L70 degradation, which equates to approximately 8-10 years under typical residential use patterns of 8 hours per day. The CRI >80 rating provides adequate colour rendering for most interior applications. The IP20 rating means the downlight is suitable for dry indoor areas only and should not be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms or anywhere exposed to direct water contact.

How do you change the colour temperature?

The colour temperature is selected via a small switch on the external driver unit before installation. You set it to 3000K, 4000K or 6500K depending on the room requirement. Once the downlight is installed and powered, the selected colour temperature remains fixed until the unit is removed and the switch is changed.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the downlight is not protected against moisture and is suitable for dry indoor areas only. For bathrooms you need an IP65-rated downlight rated for Zone 1 or Zone 2 depending on the mounting position relative to the bath or shower.

What cut-out size is needed?

The downlight requires a 125-135mm diameter hole cut into the ceiling plasterboard. A minimum of 100mm clearance above the ceiling is needed to accommodate the driver unit and allow adequate heat dissipation.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated driver does not support dimming. If you need a dimmable version, look for LumiLife downlights with 'dimmable' in the specification or contact us for alternative options.
