Description

This is a 12 watt recessed round LED panel that drops into a ceiling and sits close to flush with it, giving 900 lumens of output from a fixed LED board rather than a replaceable lamp. The colour temperature is yours to choose: a selector switch on the in-line driver sets the panel between warm and cool white, so one product covers several rooms in a house. Two sprung clips grip the plasterboard above the ceiling line to hold it in place, and the driver arrives wired to the panel with a push fit connector.

Panels like this earn their place where a room needs even, quiet light rather than pools of it: hallways, landings, kitchens, home offices, utility rooms and shop floors. The 120 degree beam spreads wide, so a run of them set out in a grid lights a ceiling evenly without the scalloping you get from narrow spotlights. The pack calls it a slimline round panel, and the flat white bezel reads as a plain disc once the ceiling is painted around it. It suits new plasterboard ceilings and refits alike, and several on one circuit keep the look consistent.

Set the colour temperature before you push the panel up, because the switch sits on the driver and is far easier to reach with the unit in your hand. A small selector switch sits on the in-line driver. Slide it to the setting you want before you fit the panel, as the driver goes up into the ceiling void with the unit.
